Did you know that June 22nd is National HVAC Technician Day? Following the first official day of summer on June 21st, it’s the perfect time to show our appreciation for the highly skilled and hardworking HVAC technicians who keep us cool and comfortable during the hottest days of the year. Across our divisions, we are proud to have over 200 dedicated technicians, and we extend our gratitude to our HSE team for keeping them safe at all times, often providing the photos you’ll see in our gallery.
During the summer, HVAC techs brave extreme conditions, often working in attics and rooftops where temperatures can soar above 120 degrees. This environment poses significant risks, requiring technicians to stay hydrated and avoid heat stroke to effectively do their jobs and keep us cool. For more insights, check out the Hunton Cares blog post, “Working in Hot Weather.”
Being an HVAC technician is far from routine. Rather than working in the same office every day, HVAC techs travel across the city and beyond, meeting new people, solving problems, and facing fresh challenges daily. They play a crucial role in ensuring safety and comfort in buildings and homes, often working beyond the typical 9-5 schedule to handle emergencies and ensure customer satisfaction.
Here’s what one of our experienced technicians, Ty P., had to say: “I love being a technician because it gives me the opportunity to help others and troubleshoot issues to solve problems. I really enjoy the camaraderie of working with our team to accomplish specific goals and tasks.”
Lastly, a word from Kris Hardin, President, and General Manager of Hunton Services: “Our technicians are the heart and soul of this business. Their dedication to our customers, their loyalty, their willingness to go the extra mile, and their teamwork do not go unnoticed. We appreciate them every day.”
Celebrate and honor our HVAC technicians today and every day!
