Houston Organizations Mobilize Relief, Donations, and Volunteer Support
Houston, TX – In response to the devastating floods that struck the Texas Hill Country and Camp Mystic over the July 4th weekend, the Houston community is coming together to support those affected. Through the Hunton Cares initiative, we are proud to stand alongside local and statewide organizations working tirelessly to bring relief, comfort, and hope to families in need. Many of the impacted communities—including Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort—are facing unimaginable loss. As recovery efforts continue, Houstonians have several ways to make a meaningful difference:
How You Can Help:
World Central Kitchen is on the ground providing fresh meals and clean water to first responders and displaced families.
TEXSAR (Texas Search and Rescue) has deployed swiftwater teams, drones, K9 units, and volunteers to assist in rescue and recovery operations.
Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, managed by The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, is directing donations to vetted local organizations for rescue, relief, and rebuilding.
American Red Cross is providing shelter, food, and emotional support to families affected by the floods.
“This is a time for Texans to come together,” said a Hunton spokesperson. “Whether it’s a donation, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, every action helps bring relief to those who’ve lost so much. Through Hunton Cares, we’re committed to supporting these vital efforts.”
The flooding has been described as more severe than the 2015 Memorial Day floods in Wimberley. Many of the victims include children attending summer camps. Relief efforts are expected to continue for weeks as communities begin the long road to recovery.
